Capsher Technologies

Continuous severe weather and hailstorm threatened a large software development firm, causing roof failure and flooding. We covered the entire 43k sqft. roof in under 24 hours.

Background

Capsher Technology is a custom software development firm with over 100 employees, located in College Station, Texas. Since being founded in 1994 as a software consulting firm, they have grown into a purpose-specific office space designed just for them. During severe weather that lasted for several days, their multilevel commercial flat roof was struck with record-breaking-sized hail. The impacts penetrated the entire roof assembly, allowing water to enter and begin flooding the building. Protecting sensitive equipment and their production work became priority number one.

Challenges

The severe storms dumped over a foot and a half of rain in just a few days. Stopping and preventing water entry into the building required our team to cover the 43,721 square foot roof in under 24 hours. The current PVC roof assembly completely failed, and we had to perform emergency fixes across the entire commercial roof until materials could be delivered.

Solutions

Overnight we sourced the materials to cover the roof, and by the morning, 18 wheelers arrived. We assembled our crew of 20 people with reach forklifts to move the materials to the roof. Within 24 hours of the hailstorm, we completely covered more than 43k square feet of the destroyed roof to prevent further damage. Once the severe weather subsided, we removed the failed 40mil PVC roof assembly. After removal, we prepped the structure and installed a new multi-level assembly, section by section.
