Schulte Roofing’s Annual Fishing Trip: Building Bonds at the Chandeleur Islands

Year after year, one of the most anticipated events at Schulte Roofing is our annual fishing trip to the Chandeleur Islands. Since 2010, this invite-only tradition has brought our team members and special guests together for an unforgettable adventure from the vibrant environment of Bryan-College Station to the unique landscape of the Gulf of Mexico, creating lasting memories and strengthening the bonds that make our company strong.

This year’s excursion was no different, once again taking us to the remote barrier islands in the Gulf of Mexico, located about 50 miles east of New Orleans and 25-30 miles south of the Mississippi coast.

For those who’ve never experienced the Chandeleurs, imagine standing out in the middle of the diverse Gulf waters, surrounded by nothing but the sound of waves and the excitement of the next catch.

These islands, which form the outer boundary of the Chandeleur Sound, are part of the Breton National Wildlife Refuge, creating an untouched paradise perfect for adventure and camaraderie.

A Perfect Day on the Water

Other than the view, the fishing certainly didn’t disappoint either. The Chandeleur Islands are renowned for their exceptional speckled trout, redfish, and jack crevalle populations, and this year’s trip proved why anglers from across the region dream of fishing these waters. We celebrated two impressive achievements: the biggest redfish and the biggest trout caught during the expedition. The friendly competition and shared excitement when these trophy fish came aboard created moments our team will be talking about for months to come.

Encounters with lemon sharks and blacktip sharks added an extra thrill to the experience, reminding everyone of the incredible ecosystem we were privileged to explore together.

This year’s trip delivered everything we hoped for and more. The laughter, the friendly competition, and the camaraderie made every moment special. Away from phones, emails, and daily routines, we had the chance to connect on a deeper level. Whether swapping fishing stories or simply enjoying the spectacular Gulf sunsets together, these moments are what build the foundation of what makes us the best roofing company.

Even our special fishing guests joined in the fun, sharing in the thrill of each catch and experiencing the teamwork and dedication that defines the Schulte Roofing culture.

Building Tomorrow’s Success Today

These fishing trips let us escape the daily routine and connect with each other in meaningful ways. The same teamwork displayed on the water is what our roofers bring to every project across Texas, ensuring exceptional results whether we’re building a new roof for your home or simply working on roof repairs.

We’re grateful for our incredible Schulte Roofing team and the opportunities we have to come together like this. For us, as a family-owned roofing company, these moments remind us why investing in our people and our relationships matters just as much as the quality roofing work we deliver every day.
