Schulte Roofing and Aggie Football

Recently Schulte Roofing completed a project at Kyle Field at Texas A&M University.  Kyle Field is the Home of the Fighting Texas Aggies and the Heisman Winner, Johnny Manziel.  In recent years Texas A&M University has been investing in its athletic program and infrastructure to accommodate a growing fan base.  Part of that expansion included a project at Kyle Field for a new flat roof.  The project required a Versico TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) system on a flat roof.

Benefits of Versico TPO

College Station roofing contractors like to use Versico TPO provides great energy benefits.  White VersiWeld membrane is rated with an Energy Star solar reflectance of .87 and emissivity of .95.  In addition the membrane of the system is also ENERGY STAR qualified.

VersiWeld TPO membranes can also be welded in a wide range of temperature and humidity without modification of welder settings.  By compensating for the extreme ranges the membrane leads to improved productivity and reliable seams.

The membranes are also available in a range of widths, colors, and thickness.  This allows a custom approach to each roofing project.  A custom approach to the project recently completed at Kyle Field allows Texas A&M University future expansion possibilities.

The VersiWeld TPO is also 11 mils more thick than ASTM minimum standards.  This thickness allows the scrim and membrane to be stretched in a number of ways.  This stretch ability allows the membrane to be fitted in various angles and shapes that would otherwise not be possible.

Reasons for a Flat Roof

Flat roofs are normally seen on commercial projects because of the extra space it frees up on structures.  In the project at Kyle Field, a flat roof located directly next to Kyle Field will allow additional seating space, viewing spots, and can be changed at any time to suit the needs of the Aggies.

Flat roofs are also less complex to design, requires fewer materials, and less time to finish the project than steep sloped roofs.  This leads to additional accessibility or ease of public use, which means you can access the roof for future commercial use and infrastructure.  Be sure to check with various College Station roofing contractors to determine what materials should be used on your roofing project.

Flat Roof Maintenance

Typically flat roofs require more maintenance than sloped roofs due to leak potential.  This maintenance is curbed by routine inspections by College Station roofing contractors.  However, in a project like the one recently completed at Texas A&M University, routine maintenance handled through the added accessibility.  This means that through normal access and commercial operations, the roof inspections can be added as part of a normal cleaning routine.

Flat roofing provides many benefits, especially for commercial purposes.  Routine maintenance can be included as part of normal operations, energy savings, and future expansion possibilities.  Using products like Versico TPO allow additional flexibility, giving more options for future expansion.
